Rainbow's Pediatric Residential Treatment Homes offer a structured environment where children and adolescents with brain injuries can rehabilitate in safe, supportive settings. Therapy, school attendance and interpersonal skill building are stressed. Individual and group therapies are utilized depending on need and may include social skills training, leisure education, anger management and fitness.

Adolescents and young adults who are beginning to develop independent living skills can progress from Rainbow's homes to the structured Town House Program to independence - or return to family. Families play a crucial role in the child's recovery and are encouraged to be active in their care. Family and sibling support groups are offered and encouraged. Our treatment center is located in Farmington, Mich., providing access to excellent schools and abundant community resources.

Education

For more than 15 years, children in Rainbow's Pediatric Residential Program have benefited from the A+ rated Farmington, Mich. public schools. A caring atmosphere, dedicated teachers and plentiful resources help children reach their full potential. The district offers a variety of programs and services based on the individual needs of the student. Even the most challenged students have found success when offered a new beginning through Rainbow and the Farmington Schools.

One of the most rewarding aspects of working with the Farmington School District is its commitment to every child. The district has gone the extra mile in providing opportunities for each Rainbow child and advocating for his or her well-being. As Farmington teacher Jason Rosen described it, "All students enter our lives through revolving doors. We provide them with knowledge, advice and tender loving care. Their imprints on our lives last forever."

Who Can Participate?

Children, adolescents and young adults who are at least 6 years of age and are not functioning at a high enough level to live at home can participate. Through careful planning and structured programming, these children can successfully build their support systems, attend school and learn new compensatory strategies while solidifying existing skills.

Children and teens who successfully complete their rehabilitation graduate and then may return home. Young adults can enter the community - able to cope with the challenges of everyday living.
