Keeping Skin Healthy

People in health care settings are particularly susceptible to health complications of the skin because of their exposure to multiple people during the recovery process. Caregivers, therapists, staff, patients and family all potentially share germs. When the body is stressed and focusing on healing bones and tissue, it leaves the skin more vulnerable to infection. When school is not in session, Rainbow Rehabilitation Centers' Summer Fun! programs offer structure and supervision for children and teens with brain injuries. The programs are held in Oakland County and Genesee County. This year's programs begin June 21 and run five days a week from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visit the Summer Fun! page to learn more.

May 6-12 is National Nurses Week

Each year, the American Nurses Association celebrates National Nurses Week in May. The week begins May 6 with National Nurses Day, and ends May 12, which is Florence Nightingale's birthday.
