Project Description

After School & Saturday

The classroom can be a challenging environment for a child who has sustained a traumatic brain injury.  That’s why Rainbow’s After School and Saturday Programs are designed to foster academic and social success in addition to advancing a child’s treatment goals.

Created by pediatric rehabilitation specialists, the After School and Saturday programs were developed to meet the needs of children and teens with brain injuries. Young people in the After School & Saturday Programs benefit from individualized scheduling, certified teachers and pediatric therapists.  They provide structure through group or individual therapies, individual tutoring, group academic support, recreational activities and social skills training.

The programs work with each child or teen to:

  • Build self-esteem
  • Improve self-control
  • Engage in age-appropriate social interactions
  • Increase development of motor skills
  • Improve memory and attention
  • Problem solve
  • Improve academic and organizational skills
  • Increase safety awareness
  • Make friends!
