To Our Valued Clients, Family Members, and Stakeholders:
We know many of you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 and how it is impacting us at Rainbow. Our top priority is the health and safety of our residents and our employees. Since February, we have had our Infection Control and Emergency Management Committees actively engaged in planning, monitoring, training and education regarding COVID-19.
In addition to our longstanding infection control precautions and protocols, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the State of Michigan have recommended and ordered a variety of steps that we have implemented to help reduce the spread of the virus.
To reduce the spread, our homes are being cleaned at an increased frequency, twice per day employees and clients are being screened for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, in-person therapy services have been reduced and shifted to telehealth where possible. In addition, we are not allowing visitors into the homes unless absolutely necessary and frequent handwashing and other prevention steps are discussed and being reinforced. When clients present with symptoms, we are taking active steps to obtain testing. These are just a few of the added precautions we have implemented.
We understand that connecting with your loved ones is incredibly important and especially so during these trying times. Rainbow has added technology devices at all locations to ensure you can connect in a variety of ways. These include telephone, or video chat through Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, or Facebook. If you are having difficulty connecting, please let our team members know so we can help get you connected.
Rainbow is following the recommendations of the CDC, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, County Health Departments, and physician consultants on prevention steps, including following strict handwashing procedures, and in many circumstances, wearing gowns, masks and gloves when interacting with residents who present symptoms. We also are staying up to date with these trusted resources on a daily basis, as recommendations are frequently changing.
We will notify responsible family members or guardians in the event a client is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive. Likewise, if a resident has been exposed to someone who has tested positive, we will also inform you. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact our center.
